Newsies, All City- Musical: Akron Civic Theatre
2024
As a theatre production specialist with a passion for storytelling through light, set, and direction. With years of experience working in a variety of different theatres, managing productions such as Newsies at Akron Civic Theatre or Descendants at The Cincinnati Children's Theatre, to working as the Technical and Assistant Director for The Addams Family at Theodore Roosevelt High School.
I have been able to build and run full-scale sets to coordinate student crews, and I’ve worked across stage management, scenic design, and lighting/audio operations. Whether I’m calling cues in a darkened booth or mentoring students through a tech rehearsal, I thrive on creating spaces where stories and people can come and shine.
Not only am I passionate about live performance, but I also bring a blend of creativity and precision to every production. With years of experience managing and assisting on shows like Newsies, Radium Girls, and The Addams Family, and more. I specialize in stage management, scenic construction, lighting and sound design, and student mentorship. My goal is to create efficient, inclusive, and unforgettable theatrical experiences from rehearsal to curtain call.
Theatre, to me, is more than storytelling; it’s world-building through collaboration, design, and honest emotion. My artistic vision centers on creating immersive, technically strong, and emotionally resonant productions that honor the voices on stage and the hands behind the scenes. Whether I’m managing a cast of students or painting a final coat onto a set piece, my goal is always to elevate the story and the people telling it.
I believe in the power of technical theatre as a form of storytelling in its own right. Lighting, scenic design, sound, costumes, these are not just enhancements; they are integral languages that shape how audiences experience a production. I approach every project with a blend of visual intuition, strong communication, and logistical precision, ensuring each cue, each backdrop, and each transition supports the narrative and honors the director’s vision.
My work in productions such as Newsies, The Addams Family Young@Part, and Radium Girls has taught me the value of adaptability and creative resourcefulness. As a Production Manager, Set Designer, Scenic Charge Artist, and Lighting Designer, I thrive in environments that challenge me to be both artist and technician. I’m deeply committed to working with students and emerging artists, creating inclusive spaces where growth, risk-taking, and collaboration are encouraged.
At the core of my artistic mission is accessibility and mentorship. I aim to demystify technical theatre for young performers, giving them the tools and confidence to explore every part of the stage, not just the spotlight. I believe theatre should be an empowering and transformative space for everyone involved, from the actors and crew to the community we perform for.
Above all, my vision is to leave every space, physical and creative, better than I found it: more vibrant, more collaborative, and more alive with possibility.
